About this Position
We are excited to invite applications for the position of Leading Hand Resource Recovery. This position oversees staff to ensure safe, efficient waste sorting and resource recovery operations, supporting environmental compliance and high customer service standards. The role plays a key part in reducing landfill by maximising diversion of recoverable and hazardous materials and maintaining a safe, compliant, community‐focused facility.

What we trust you to deliver
* Support the Field Supervisor to ensure efficient operations and effective team collaboration by assisting with administration tasks, completing assigned tasks, completing safety inspections, compliance and contributing to daily planning and scheduling.
* Take responsibility for independently supervising sites, leading small teams and contractors as required, to successfully complete all aspects of assigned tasks, ensuring adherence to safety requirements, project timelines and quality standards.
* Provide high quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders while maintaining effective communication and collaboration with team members and staff.
* Carry out general labouring duties as required.
* Lead WHS practices by identifying hazards, conducting inspections, and mentoring staff in safe work methods. Drive team compliance and contribute to safety documentation and investigations.
What you will need to be successful
* Certificate III in Waste Management or relevant qualification/experience in a similar field
* Current Class C Drivers Licence
* General Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
* Current First Aid Certificate - have or willing to obtain
* Current Forklift Licence Licence (LF Class) - have or willing to obtain
* The ability to work a seven day rotating roster including weekends with varying shift commencement times

Salary: From $1,301.50 (Grade 9 Entry) per week+ superannuation

Conditions of Employment: Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.

Council has an immunisation program to provide employees with vaccinations against known health risks associated with their respective duties and to identify any exposure to products that may affect an employee's health, fitness and wellbeing. This position has been identified as a risk to the employee and as such the successful applicant/s will be required to participate in the immunisation program and it is the applicant's responsibility to have undertaken relevant immunisation/s prior to commencement with Council.
