About the Opportunity

In this pivotal role, you will work with a corporate communications team to deliver public relations activities that support regional growth, advocacy, and investment.

Working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders, you will help position Townsville North Queensland positively at local, state, national, and international levels.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Develop and deliver engaging content across media, digital and corporate channels
* Write media releases, newsletters, speeches and stakeholder communications
* Build and maintain strong relationships with media and key stakeholders
* Coordinate media opportunities, press events and familiarisations
* Monitor media coverage and identify proactive opportunities
* Support CEO and leadership with communications, briefings and messaging
* Contribute to social media and digital content strategies
* Ensure brand consistency and manage reputational risk

About You

You are a highly organised, proactive communicator who brings both professionalism and passion to your work. You're a strong communicator who thrives in a dynamic environment and knows how to turn complex information into compelling stories.

You will bring:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience in public relations, communications or media
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
* Confidence engaging with media, stakeholders and senior leaders
* A proactive mindset with an eye for opportunities
* High attention to detail and professionalism

Essential Requirements

* Tertiary qualification in communications, PR, marketing, journalism or similar
* Strong digital and Microsoft Office skills
* Current driver's licence
* Experience in a communications or PR role (preferable)
