About The Role

Do you have a passion for caring for animals and experience working with a diverse range of terrestrial and aquatic animals? As an Animal Care Attendant you will provide high quality daily care for the many animals in the Ipswich Nature Centre, supporting the wellbeing of the animals and contributing to a positive experience for the local community. You'll help ensure our animals receive the highest standard of daily care while also maintaining a safe and welcoming environment that meets all regulatory and welfare requirements.

Responsibilities

* Animal feeding, administration of medication and treatments, enclosure preparation, cleaning and maintenance
* Document animal health, behaviour and daily routines and report on the identification and management of any risks
* Demonstrated ability to undertake site and animal maintenance activities
* Undertake animal movement or containment activities

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

* Current C Class Driver Licence
* Certificate 2 in Captive Animal Management or relevant industry experience
* Belief in our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership

Upon commencement, the successful candidate will need to be immunised against Q Fever and Rabies (if not already immunised) and pass a respiratory fit test before they start wearing a tight fitting respirator and at regular intervals during their employment. Workers must be clean shaven or only have facial hair that does not interfere with the fitting surfaces and the valve of the respirator.

There are 2 permanent part time positions (approximately 20 hours a week) available with a salary commencing at $69,072 (pro‐rata) plus 12.5% superannuation. These positions may be required to work weekends and public holidays.
