About The Role

As a Youth Support Officer, you will provide positive role modelling to help young people develop the life skills needed to move toward a law‐abiding lifestyle. You'll support young people and their families to work toward the goals outlined in their through‐care and case coordination plans, and assist them to achieve the best possible outcomes.
The role includes liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support each young person's progress, as well as coordinating or providing transport so they can attend programs identified in their plans. Working alongside Senior Youth Justice Officers and Youth Justice Officers, you will also help promote effective parenting and support parents and caregivers in their responsibilities.
You will provide regular, relevant feedback and reports on each young person's progress, and contribute positively as part of the workplace team.
Eligibility
Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
WWC positions – In accordance with the National Child Safety Principles, people who work directly with children and young people, you must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for this position.
