We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Representative to join our flooring retail team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for helping customers, and the ability to provide product recommendations based on customer needs. This role involves sales consultation, product knowledge, quoting, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the entire purchasing process.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet customers and provide professional, friendly assistance in selecting flooring products (carpet, laminate, hybrid, vinyl, timber, etc.).
* Assess customer needs and recommend suitable products based on lifestyle, budget, and design preferences.
* Prepare accurate quotations, invoices, and job sheets using in-store software systems.
* Follow up on customer inquiries, quotes, and pending orders.
* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of product ranges, promotions, installation processes, and warranties.
* Coordinate with installers, warehouse, and suppliers to ensure smooth order processing and timely installation.
* Handle customer concerns or issues professionally and escalates when required.
* Maintain showroom presentation, product displays, and sample organisation.
* Achieve monthly sales targets and contribute to store performance.
* Build long-term customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Skills & Qualifications
* Previous retail or sales experience (flooring or home improvement industry preferred but not essential).
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to learn technical product information and explain flooring options confidently.
* Good organisational and time-management abilities.
* Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, POS systems, quoting software).
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
* Professional presentation and positive attitude.
* A valid driver's licence (preferred).
