Join Our Lady Queen of Peace School – Educational Support Officer – Grounds and Maintenance (Grade 3).
Our Lady Queen of Peace School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Grounds and Maintenance Personto join our vibrant learning community. You will play a vital role in supporting Teachers and students in fostering a positive learning environment for all.
The position is 20 hours per week, 42 weeks per year.
The Role
The Grounds and Maintenance Person role is to maintain the school grounds, with a particular emphasis on ensuring the school buildings, grounds and facilities are in good order and that plant and equipment are kept to the highest standards.
Qualifications and Experience
* Applicant will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the Catholic ethos and a knowledge and understanding of a Catholic school.
* General repairs and maintenance to buildings externally and internally.
* Repairs and maintenance of fittings and fixtures to maintain an appropriate level of functionality and safety.
* Management of rubbish collection and waste disposal.
* Maintenance of lawns, landscaping and irrigation systems.
* Ability to design, construct and manage small projects
* Servicing plant and equipment in accordance with Manufacturer's Instructions.
* Management of grounds generally, including minor repairs, maintenance, cleaning and safety inspections.
* Management of Work, Health and Safety requirements.
* Trade qualifications or equivalent (electrical, cabinet marking, carpenter, fitter, boiler maker or maintenance technician (desirable)
* A pleasant "can do" attitude with the ability to use initiative – solution orientated
