EQ Saddlery | Permanent Part-Time | School Hours Friendly
EQ Saddlery is a well-established, multi-store retail business operating across Australia. We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our Finance team, managing payroll processing, general ledger reconciliations, and ERP system initiatives.
This is a part-time, on-site role starting at 2 – 3 days per week, with the opportunity for additional days and increased hours over time as the role grows. Thursday attendance is essential.
The role offers flexible start and finish times and would suit school hours.

Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Reconciliations
* Perform weekly and month-end general ledger reconciliations
* Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including payroll clearing, superannuation and leave provisions, bank and merchant clearing accounts, accruals, and prepayments
* Investigate, analyse, and resolve reconciliation variances in a timely manner
* Prepare and post journals with appropriate supporting documentation
* Assist with month-end close processes and reporting deadlines
* Maintain clear audit trails and reconciliation schedules to support audit and compliance requirements
Payroll
* Process fortnightly payroll, including accurate processing of timesheet data, verification of employee information, and completion of quality checks prior to payroll finalisation
* Maintain accurate payroll and employee records, including onboarding, offboarding.
* Ensure payroll processes align with the General Retail Industry Award
ERP & Systems Support
* Support ERP system implementation and setup, including data validation, testing, reconciliation during system transitions, chart-of-accounts mapping, and system controls
* Support finance process improvements and system enhancements
About You – Qualifications & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
* Proven experience in Accounts and payroll
* Minimum of 5+ years' experience
* Strong working knowledge of POS systems, including Retail Express an advantage
* Demonstrated experience with MYOB AccountRight
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
* High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
* Experience supporting or participating in ERP system implementations or upgrades
* Australian citizen or permanent resident with unrestricted work rights
