Nedlands Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants - Mainstream for appointments to fixed term, part-time, permanent, and full-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.
About the Role
As a Education Assistant Mainstream suitable applicants will assist in the delivery of planned education programs. In this role you will collaborate and work in a team environment. Suitable applicants will ideally be aligned in experience with our whole school educational and business commitments. The suitable applicants will possess good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group programs, as well as the ability to support the general health and well-being of students. Your initiative and organisational skills will be highly valued to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment.
Suitable applicants will work under teacher direction in a diverse role. As an Education Assistant you would also provide support to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and relevant with the health and safety of students being a high priority. Suitable applicants will demonstrate an alignment with the Nedlands PS engagement philosophy.

10. obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
11. complete the Department’s induction program within 3 months of commencement
12. complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
13. complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within 6 months of appointment
14. complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.
Education Assistants working with Kindergarten students may be required to have, or be actively working towards, a Certificate lll in Education Support (or approved equivalent) in order to meet the educator-to-student ratio outlined in the National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education and Care.
