Lead a delivery practice supporting enterprise integration solutions for national critical systems
About the Role
As a Practice Manager supporting the Integration Services team at the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), you will lead, coach and develop team members while working closely with project managers, technical professionals, architecture and security teams to achieve agreed delivery outcomes.
You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining standard work practices and integration design standards, including automation, to improve the quality, maturity and consistency of services, technologies and supporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, lead and mature the Integration Services delivery practice by providing people leadership, building capability, setting direction and priorities, managing demand forecasts with supply and contributing to resourcing strategies that enable high quality delivery outcomes.
Ensure operational accountability for the delivery practice by overseeing performance, compliance and adherence to agreed processes and controls.
Provide technical delivery guidance and assurance across integration initiatives, ensuring solutions meet agreed standards for quality, consistency, reliability, and operational readiness.
Partner closely with project managers, architecture, security, operations, and vendors to guide solution design, align expectations, support accurate estimation and forecasting, resolve delivery and technical risks, and achieve sustainable outcomes.
Influence and promote the adoption of common integration patterns, platforms, and automation approaches to improve reuse, efficiency, and long term maintainability.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of integration standards, policies, systems, and delivery practices, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, industry standards, and organisational requirements.
Ensure integration solutions are delivered and transitioned to meet operational needs, supportability, sustainability, enabling effective transition into business as usual operations.
Manage stakeholder and vendor relationships, ensuring procurement and delivery engagements are effective, expectations are aligned, and issues or blockers impacting delivery outcomes are addressed in a timely manner.
Proactively identify, assess, and respond to delivery, technical, and operational risks and opportunities, maintaining delivery momentum while protecting service quality and stability.
Provide clear assurance, insight, and reporting on integration delivery outcomes, risks, and improvement opportunities to senior stakeholders.
About You
You bring strong people and practice leadership experience, including developing capability, setting clear expectations, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
You are an experienced technology and delivery leader with a proven ability to influence technical outcomes across complex initiatives, balancing delivery priorities with long term sustainability, operability, and risk management.
You have a solid understanding of integration technologies and patterns across hybrid environments, including APIs, data and application integration, and middleware platforms, and are comfortable guiding and challenging solution design without being hands‑on.
You bring experience implementing, evolving, or scaling enterprise integration platforms in complex environments, including technologies such as IBM Sterling Integrator, MQ, MuleSoft, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure API Management.
You are experienced in governing and evolving delivery practices, standards, patterns, and automation approaches to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency across multiple initiatives.
You work effectively with technical professionals within your practice, as well as project managers, architecture, operations, and vendors, influencing decisions and resolving delivery and technical risks.
You bring a strong understanding of Financial Services, Government, or similarly regulated environments, including relevant policies, risk frameworks, and compliance obligations, and can guide teams to deliver compliant outcomes.
You understand the importance of operational readiness, and can ensure solutions are supportable, reliable, and fit for ongoing operation.
You bring a pragmatic understanding of portfolio and project delivery, applying waterfall and agile approaches to enable effective delivery rather than enforcing methodology.
You have strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience providing assurance and clear advice to senior leaders.
