About the Role:
An opportunity is available for a Management Accountant to join a purpose-driven organisation operating within the regulated community and not-for-profit sector. Based in Lismore, this role supports the organisation’s financial management through accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and effective management of cashflow that supports essential community services.
Working within a collaborative finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting compliance requirements, and providing financial insights to support operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentationManage grant and funding accounting, including recognition, acquittals, and compliance reportingCoordinate end-of-month processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliationsAssist in the preparation of monthly financial and management reportsSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activitiesAssist with internal and external audit processes and maintain audit-ready documentationEnsure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirementsWork closely with internal stakeholders to support financial reporting and funding accountabilityContribute to improvements in financial systems, reporting tools and internal controls
About You:You are a detail-focused accounting professional who enjoys working in a structured environment and supporting organisations that deliver meaningful services to the community.
You will bring:Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or FinanceCPA or CA qualification (or currently working towards)Experience in management/financial accounting, reporting and reconciliationsStrong understanding of accounting standards and financial complianceAdvanced Excel and strong analytical capabilitiesExcellent organisational and time management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
