Drug Awareness Rehabilitation and Management (Drug ARM) is a not for profit organisation committed to reducing harms associated with alcohol and other drug use. Drug ARM has been a specialist provider of alcohol and other drug services since 1980 and currently operates throughout Queensland and parts of New South Wales.

Program Overview
The program aims to expand access to drug and alcohol counselling, group support and care coordination service for individuals in Goondiwindi and surrounding areas, strengthening the regions current capacity.
Guided by harm minimisation principles, the bio-psychosocial model, and a recovery-oriented approach as outlined in the Model of Service, the program promotes integrated treatment pathways and prioritises improved care coordination at the local level. Our goal is to ensure that people receive holistic, person-centred support that fosters long-term recovery and wellbeing.
Position Overview
The Clinical Worker plays a vital role in delivering intensive, client-centred clinical support services to individuals seeking help with substance misuse and related challenges. This position is integral to improving health outcomes and fostering recovery within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide services within the harm minimisation framework as outlined in the National Drug Strategy 2010–2015.
* Recognise the spectrum of substance use and implement flexible, stepped-care models tailored to individual needs and stages of change.
* Build and maintain strong professional partnerships with General Practices, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services, and other stakeholders to deliver multi-disciplinary, team-based care.
* Respond to the full range of psychoactive substances, including alcohol, tobacco, licit and illicit drugs, pharmaceutical misuse, emerging synthetics, and poly-drug use.
* Enhance continuity of care through eHealth initiatives.
* Adapt to changing drug use trends by addressing methods of use and associated risk factors.
* Demonstrate accessibility through assertive outreach strategies.
* Deliver services that are flexible, holistic, culturally responsive, and client-centred.
The Clinical Worker operates within a collaborative team environment and is accountable for meeting program benchmarks while maintaining the highest professional standards.
Core components of the role will include intake, screening and assessment, treatment planning, brief interventions, counselling using endorsed therapeutic approached, harm reduction education and information, referral to other services, discharge planning and post-treatment support. Counselling may include group and individual sessions.
Working hours will be 9 day per fortnight. Staff will also require to be a holder of a current Paid Blue Card.
