Job Title: Planner (Land Use)
Byron Shire Council is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Planner to join our team. As a key member of our planning department, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality strategic and environmental planning policies, plans, and assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation and implementation of Local Growth Management Plans, including residential, rural, and employment land strategies.
* Amending Local Environmental Plans and preparing Development Control Plans, along with associated policies, programs, and plans.
* Liaising and consulting with the public on strategic planning matters and projects.
* Providing specialist technical information and advice regarding strategic planning matters to Council departments and other public authorities.

* A competitive salary range of $1,568.10 to $1,816.88 per 35 hour week, dependent upon skills and experience.

Requirements:
* Qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline.
* Experience in strategic land use planning roles, including knowledge and experience of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Local Government Act, and related legislation.
* Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to interpret and apply planning legislation.
* Community consultation and engagement experience.
