We currently require a grounds and maintenance person, in a permanent role for varied and interesting work maintaining an education facility within Ipswich. Day to day tasks will be mowing, edging, weeding and watering, involving operation of irrigation equipment, working with other grounds staff. Undertake routine grounds maintenance i.e. maintain established gardens, basic planting, trimming and removal of rubbish and weeds as required. Undertake and assist with basic and routine building maintenance and minor repairs to fixtures. Assist with moving of furniture and equipment and the set up and pull down of events, sporting activities and ceremonies.
You will need:
* Have or willing to obtain current working with children Blue Card
* Preferred minimum QLD Transport Light Rigid Licence and a current forklift licence.
* Recent experience in a similar role looked upon favorably.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake routine grounds and facilities maintenance activities.
* Demonstrated ability to follow safe working practices involving the use of protective equipment.
* Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility for own work and to work with and maintain good working relations with the team.
* A reasonable level of fitness appropriate to the task described.
* Perform first aid certificate desirable.
* A commitment to and understanding of the purpose and mission of the catholic church and catholic schools.
