These contract roles are ideal for highly organised and motivated professionals wanting to contribute to high-quality service delivery across a variety of legal matters.About the RolesOur client is offering exciting opportunities for both Paralegals and Legal Secretaries to provide essential support to legal teams.Paralegal roles will focus on litigation and claims support, including document preparation, research, discovery processes, trial preparation, and stakeholder coordination.Legal Secretary roles will provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to legal professionals, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.These positions are being offered on 6-month contracts with the possibility of extension, located at the client's Brisbane City office.Key Responsibilities – ParalegalFiling and serving legal documents, conducting searches, and compiling briefs and filesSupporting discovery processes including inspection, copying, and preparing lists of documentsDrafting routine court documentation and correspondenceAssisting with trial preparation and attending hearings as requiredCoordinating meetings, mediations, and interviewsLiaising with clients, Counsel, expert witnesses, and stakeholdersMaintaining bring-up systems, time recording, billing support, and indexing documentsUndertaking legal research and assisting with witness interviewsKey Responsibilities – Legal SecretaryUndertake high-level, accurate word processing and typingFormat complex documents (Word, PowerPoint, and PDF)Prepare briefs, documents, and routine correspondenceMonitor and manage incoming and outgoing correspondenceCoordinate travel and accommodationManage information (Excel spreadsheets, practice management systems, case management systems such as VisualFiles)Manage diaries, organise meetings and conferences, prepare agendas, minutes, and other materialsMaintain filing, records, bring-up and retrieval systemsAssist legal professionals with financial deadlines including billing and time recordingEnsure compliance with procedures for payment of legal expenses and counsel feesProvide timely and professional services, undertaking other duties as required to support the operational areaAbout YouYou'll be a motivated professional with demonstrated experience as either a Paralegal or Legal Secretary, with a strong interest in legal practice and a commitment to delivering accurate, effective, and high-quality support.
