Firefighter Job Opportunity
The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to incidents and performing duties as directed by the Station Officer and Leading Firefighter.
The role involves working on a semi-rural Aviation Fire and Rescue operation at RAAF Base Gingin in WA. The position requires shift work, including day, night weekends and public holidays, but is permanently placed on a specific roster pattern.
Monday to Thursday: 0800 – 1700hrs
Friday: 0800 – 1500hrs
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to aviation incidents and perform firefighting duties
* Work safely around aircraft and other hazards
* Collaborate with the Station Officer and Leading Firefighter to achieve team goals
Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, you must possess certain qualifications and skills, including:
* PUA20613 Certificate II in Public Safety (Fire-fighting and Emergency Operations)
* PUA30613 Certificate III in Public Safety (Fire-fighting and Emergency Operation)
* Specific units from within the Certificate levels, including PUAFIR305B Respond to Aviation Incidents (General), PUAFIR205B Respond to Aviation Incidents (Specialist), PUAFIR209B Work safely around aircraft, Driver's Licence (MR & HR) and HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
Additional Requirements:
* Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting 1 (secret)
* Australian citizenship
* Ability to successfully pass an ARRFF pre-employment medical
