Job Summary:
We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead our major infrastructure initiative in Tasmania's hydropower sector. This is a multi-year, multi-site project that requires seamless coordination across engineering, procurement, construction, logistics, and stakeholder engagement.
About the Project:
* This program represents a strategic asset renewal of units critical to Tasmania's energy mix.
* The project aims to increase capacity and improve efficiency, particularly during peak load periods.
* It involves refurbishing turbines by replacing critical components such as top and bottom covers, runners, guide vanes, shafts, and bearings.
This complex transformation will set a new benchmark for innovation in execution, incorporating advanced outage planning, custom tooling, and pre-assembly trials.
In this role, you will be responsible for enabling quality management through every stage of the lifecycle, from design and manufacture, through to installation and commissioning.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a robust project-wide quality framework.
2. Lead quality planning and assurance across design, manufacturing, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
3. Manage stakeholder quality expectations, create inspection/test strategies, and coordinate 3rd-party QA/QC teams.
4. Drive compliance with Australian and international standards including ISO 9001.
5. Establish and maintain document management systems.
6. Identify risks and implement quality mitigation strategies across project lifecycle.
7. Coordinate inspections, audits and final quality signoffs with internal and external stakeholders.
About You:
You're a strategic leader and systems architect who drives high standards across complex projects.
With a degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering, you have proven experience leading quality assurance on large-scale EPC or energy infrastructure initiatives.
You build and lead diverse teams of internal and external QA/QC professionals, ensuring consistent quality from offshore manufacturing through to on-site installation and commissioning.
Your ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, combined with strong communication and influencing skills, allows you to align complex project demands confidently.
