Position Overview
Technician - Field Service (2/1 FIFO) – Newman team specialising in engine maintenance and repairs across Mining and Power Generation applications. Provide breakdown and scheduled maintenance to our clients in the Pilbara region. Operates on a 2/1 roster flying in and out of Perth. Flights are within 14 days, allowing a full 7‐day break.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a first‐class service to customers in mining, automotive and power generation sectors.
* Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products on breakdowns and mine sites.
* Diagnose and repair various engines; perform engine rebuilding and reconditioning.
* Ensure adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation, reporting any issues or incidents to the Field Service Supervisor.
* Complete required documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents in business systems or handwritten forms.
Qualifications & Experience
* Mechanical trades qualified as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to Australian standards.
* Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in service and maintenance of HHP heavy diesel products in field service; preference for Cummins engines.
* Solid diagnostic and IT capabilities.
* Experience with Hitachi, Komatsu & Liebherr highly desirable.
* Minimal workshop related experience; basic knowledge of engine products.

Education, Licences & Certifications
* Apprentice trained engine technician (preferred) or vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
