About the role
Our client is a public practice with offices spread across the East Coast of Australia (NSW and QLD). They are seeking an ambitious Intermediate or Senior Accountant, keen/open to a pathway to Partner, with flexible office locations to work across NSW and QLD. Office locations available in Newcastle, Balgowlah and Dee Why.
About you
- You have excellent accounting skills with a real passion for pinpoint accuracy and the ability to identify meaningful details.
- You have people skills to work as part of a tight-knit team, partner with internal and external stakeholders, and the self-motivation to work independently.
- You understand the importance of deadlines, and your communication skills help explain financial concepts to colleagues who may not have an accounting background.
Key Responsibilities
- Be comfortable working with leadership and being exposed to key decisions.
- Collaborate across the entire company while maintaining autonomous work.
- Prepare financial statements and tax returns for trusts, companies and individuals, and provide business advice such as tax planning.
- Be results-driven, process- and efficiency-minded, and care for clients as part of a high-performing team.
- Manage your own workflow.
- Although you will not manage staff directly, you will have the ability to delegate work to other team members to match your high skill level.
- Work hard during deadline-driven periods and enjoy the rewarding outcomes with staff and clients.
Key requirements
- CA/CPA qualified (or working towards) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Degree qualified in Commerce, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years' experience in accounting, bookkeeping or audit or business advisory services (ideally within a chartered accounting environment).
- Strong team player.
- Highly motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and data manipulation.
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail are critical.
- Ability to develop relationships across areas of the business and externally with business partners.
- Forward-thinking mindset in general accounting and administration support.
