About the Role

As a Shift Team Leader you will provide frontline supervision of feed mill operations during designated shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production of animal nutrition products.


Your day-to-day activities will include

* Lead, coach, and support a shift team of mill operators and mill hands.
* Allocate tasks, monitor work practices, and ensure safe, efficient operations.
* Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
* Oversee feed milling processes including pellet mill, hammer mill, extruder, blenders, grinders, and control panels.
* Conduct and review quality assurance activities, including product sampling, grain testing, and recording results.
* Perform and oversee basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks (belt changes, lubrication, adjustments).
* Maintain a safe working environment in line with WHS obligations, FeedSafe standards, and company policies.
* Conduct routine checks, toolbox talks, and safety observations.
* Oversee receipt and testing of grain and raw materials.
* Supervise loading/unloading of bulk feed and bagged product.
* Monitor and maintain records for stock levels, tallies, and grain reports.
* Support completion of stocktaking activities and ordering of bagged grain where required.
* Coordinate shift handovers and ensure accurate recording of production data.


What We Are Looking For

We would love to hear from you if you have:

* Previous feed mill experience.
* Completion of FeedSafe training modules.
* Completion of an approved supervisory skills course (e.g., Certificate IV in Frontline Leadership).
* Advanced Feed Milling Certificate (or equivalent) preferred.
* A great attitude and willingness to learn.
* The ability to perform physical tasks safely.
* A team-focused mindset.
* Good attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
* Mechanical aptitude or previous experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or warehousing (highly regarded but not required).
