As the Operations Manager, you will oversee an expanding portfolio of projects, implement robust quality systems, and drive business development. This role offers the unique opportunity to apply your expertise in both manufacturing and building industries, leading the team in creating high-quality products for off-road campers and construction clients. Your strategic vision and hands-on approach will be crucial in transforming business cycles and establishing the business as a premium supplier in the RV industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to the production team, foster a culture of innovation and quality, and work closely with the 2IC to align operational goals.
2. Business Development and Customer Relations: Source and quote on new opportunities, maintain existing customer relationships, and identify and pursue growth opportunities in the caravan and RV industry.
3. Project Management: Oversee multiple fabrication projects simultaneously, ensure timely delivery and quality standards are met, and coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
4. Quality Management: Implement ISO9001, drive continuous improvement, and prepare the business for industry accreditation.
5. Operational Efficiency: Develop strategies to stabilize workflows, optimize resource allocation and production scheduling, and collaborate with the 2IC to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
6. Technical Proficiency: Utilize Autodesk Inventor for design and production planning.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience in operations management within manufacturing or fabrication industries.
2. Strong background in the building industry, with additional manufacturing experience preferred.
3. Demonstrated success in implementing quality management systems, preferably ISO9001.
4. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software.
5. Experience in project management and client relations.
6. Knowledge of RV and caravan industry standards (desirable).
7. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
8. Analytical thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
