Job Description
We are seeking individuals with a professional background in Psychology or Rehabilitation Counselling interested in working in the Occupational Rehabilitation sector. In this dynamic and rewarding role, you’ll enjoy the flexibility and autonomy to structure your day while making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals recovering from workplace injury or illness. You’ll guide clients through their rehabilitation journey, supporting their return to health, work, and everyday life. This includes delivering tailored occupational rehabilitation services to clients with a range of physical and psychological conditions, and helping them achieve sustainable recovery and return-to-work outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Case management (caseloads are manageable, with the support of Rehabilitation Assistants to alleviate administrative tasks).
- Partner with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs and assist those with an injury or health condition to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes.
- Collaborate with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals across schemes such as workers compensation, compulsory third party, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and employer-funded injury prevention programs.
- Conduct Vocational Assessments with the aim of identifying suitable job options, complete comprehensive labour market research on identified job options, and match options to a client’s physical and psychological capabilities.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology or Rehabilitation Counselling.
- General or Provisional AHPRA registration or Full ASORC Membership.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to engage with clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Empathy, compassion, patience, and resilience to support clients through recovery.
- Current QLD Driver’s License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance is a must.
