This is a Digital Operations Capability Lead role with Monash University based in Melbourne, VIC, AU Monash University Role Seniority - director More about the Digital Operations Capability Lead role at Monash University Job No.: 684380 Location: Clayton campus Employment Type: Full-time Duration: Continuing appointment Remuneration: $140,157 - $148,769 pa HEW Level 09 (plus 17% employer superannuation) Amplify your impact at a world top 50 University Join our inclusive, collaborative community Be surrounded by extraordinary ideas - and the people who discover them The Opportunity Monash University’s Digital Transformation team is looking for an Operations Capability Lead to oversee the daily support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a range of cross-platform digital applications, while building the capability and effectiveness of high-performing teams. This role plays a key part in delivering the strategic direction of the Domain by driving operational excellence, enabling service delivery, and supporting evolving business needs. As Operations Capability Lead, you will drive strategic planning and lead the delivery of complex programs, projects, and digital services. You’ll manage resources, applications, and system performance, while engaging senior stakeholders and guiding teams through change. Your leadership will ensure systems and services are aligned with business goals and deliver measurable outcomes. You’ll also oversee the adoption of tools, standards, and processes across the organisation, support capability development, and manage transitions from project delivery to business as usual. As a subject matter expert, you’ll provide strategic advice and contribute to the growth of specialist knowledge to support long-term organisational success. About You To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a strong people-first approach, along with proven leadership and operational management skills. You’ll have a track record of delivering complex programs using contemporary IT practices, and the ability to provide expert technical and strategic advice to support high-level decision-making. You’ll demonstrate strong planning, resource management, and organisational skills in large, complex environments. With experience leading high-performing teams, you’ll also bring advanced analytical, consulting, and communication skills enabling you to influence stakeholders, drive change, and deliver IT-enabled business improvements aligned with strategic goals.
