- Remuneration: $110,986 - $139,187 + Super

- Hours Per Week: 38

- Location: Broken Hill

Broken Hill offers a unique community experience. Located just 3 hours from Mildura, 5 hours from Adelaide, or accessible via a short flight from anywhere in Australia, with all amenities at your doorstep.

Role Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Consultant and in consultation with other clinicians, this role involves providing clinical assessment and medical management of patients under the Far West LHD Psychiatry Service.

About Far West LHD

The Far West Local Health District is one of 15 under NSW Health, delivering high-quality public health services across far west NSW. Our vision is to excel in rural and remote healthcare, employing over 800 clinicians and support staff across 9 facilities including Broken Hill, Balranald, Dareton, and others. We are committed to making a positive impact on community health outcomes.

Application Process

To be considered, please thoroughly address the selection criteria:

- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with current authority to practice as a Medical Officer with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA).

- Postgraduate experience (>12 months) in Psychiatry medicine, both adult and paediatric, in a public hospital.

- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, recognizing own clinical limitations.

- Strong time management, problem-solving skills, and team coordination abilities.

- Excellent communication and computer skills relevant to Australian medical practice.

- Active participation in quality assurance and improvement activities.

- Commitment to teaching and ongoing medical education.

- Valid unrestricted driver's license for NSW/Australia and willingness to travel.
