The Role

To support RSC's business development and company growth strategy, RSC requires a Business Development Geologist to perform and lead key business development tasks. The role will be based at our Perth office and will involve championing the growth of RSC's business development in the Australian market/region and supporting RSC's global business development. The successful applicant will leverage their technical background and work closely with the Business Development team, and with members of the Geoscience, Exploration, Resources & Reserves, Business Services, and Management units, based on the business development task being performed. This is a full-time role but for the right candidate, a part-time role will be considered. This role is offered as a mid-tier to senior role, to be determined by the selected candidate's level of experience.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake the following work:

* Champion the growth of RSC's business development and reputation in the Australian market in particular, including developing and maintaining knowledge on the regional market.
* Play a role in developing RSC's regional (and global) marketing strategies, materials, and marketing avenues (e.g. social media, workshops, conference attendance).
* Foster relationships with existing regional partners and identify and develop other potential relationships.
* Maintain and foster client relationships.
* Attend client or prospective client meetings as required.
* Prepare proposals for current or prospective clients.
* Investigate the applicability of existing or new RSC services in the region.
* Champion the growth and utilisation of RSC's Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) facility and regional pXRF rental business.
* Manage and maintain a record of requested proposals and enquiries for day-to-day planning.
* Provide support to the General Manager of Business Development regarding research or investigation of possible new services, products and clients.
* Assist the technical business units with technical work tasks from time to time.

WHO we are looking for to join our team:

At RSC we are focussed on your skills and experience. Typically, you will:

* have a minimum of 3-5 years' mineral industry or geosciences experience in a technical role (within a company, scientific institute or consultancy);
* have at least a BSc (MSc preferred) in Geology or related technical field;
* have an excellent understanding of the mineral sector value chain;
* have excellent knowledge of exploration and mining data, terminology, and processes;
* be well-informed about the influences and drivers on the mineral sector;
* be energetic, enjoy a variety of tasks, and have the ability to manage and adapt to competing priorities;
* have interpersonal skills and ability to engage with a range of clients, prospective clients, partners and staff across RSC's business;
* have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills;
* communicate confidently and effectively;
* have excellent organisational and planning abilities;
* have a great understanding of most of the common mineral systems;
* have excellent knowledge of key exploration methodologies and mining techniques;
* have a good understanding of minerals industry public reporting (JORC; NI 43-101);
* reside in Perth, and have the legal right to work in Australia.

It would be highly regarded if you have:

* experience with SEM, pXRF and other exploration technologies; and
* some level of experience in crafting marketing materials and/or social media
