This position works 3 days per week - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 9am to 4.30pm
At Coolibah Care, we're dedicated to creating a warm, supportive, and homelike environment for our residents. We're seeking a Therapy Assistant to join our Wellness & Lifestyle Team, helping deliver high-quality therapy interventions that support independence, wellbeing, and meaningful engagement for older people.
This role is all about collaboration – you'll work closely with Allied Health professionals, nurses, carers, and volunteers to ensure residents receive holistic, person-centred care that enhances their quality of life.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting with group and individual therapy programs under the direction of Allied Health professionals.
* Supporting residents with mobility, daily living activities, and meaningful activities that promote wellbeing.
* Building strong, respectful relationships with residents, families, and staff.
* Mentoring and guiding volunteers to make a positive contribution to resident wellbeing.
* Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation in line with industry standards.
* Promoting safety, quality care, and compliance with Aged Care Standards.
* Engaging in professional development to stay current with best practices.
What you need to be successful in this role:
You are compassionate, team-oriented, and passionate about enhancing the lives of older people. You'll also bring:
* Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or Therapy Assistant/Activities Coordinator qualification)
* Experience supporting therapy programs in aged care, community health, or similar environments.
* Strong knowledge of safe manual handling, mobility aids, and activities that support wellness.
* Experience working with people living with dementia, mental health conditions, or communication/swallowing difficulties.
* Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
* A proactive, flexible, and empathetic approach.
* Current Police Clearance (less than 6 months)
* It is recommended that you will have 2 COVID Vaccinations and an up-to-date Flu vaccination
