**The Role**
**APS 5**
As an Information Assurance Officer (APS5) you will work within an existing information management framework. You will assist in the analysis and review of information for sensitivities, identify issues and manage expectations of stakeholders.
**APS 6**
As an Information Assurance Officer (APS6) you will manage a small team and work within an existing information management framework. You will assist in the analysis and review of information for sensitivities, identify issues and manage expectations of stakeholders.
**About our Team**
The IGADF Afghanistan Inquiry was initiated by Defence in 2016 to determine whether there was any substance to rumours and allegations relating to possible breaches of the Law of Armed Conflict by members of the Special Operations Task Group.
The Afghanistan Inquiry Response Task Force (AIRTF) is the lead for Defence's response to matters arising from the Inquiry.
The AIRTF has a number of direct responsibility tasks including:
- Support to senior Defence leadership relating to the Inquiry;
- Coordination of strategic communication;
- Engagement of external and internal stakeholders;
- Development of the reform plan for CDF;
- Oversight of execution of the reform plan;
- Legal coordination relating to Defence interests in related civil litigation and criminal matters; and
- Coordination of access to Defence information related to legal and other consequences of the Afghanistan Inquiry.
The Information Access and Assurance and Security team is responsible for:
- The coordination of the release of information to requesting entities;
- Support to enable controlled access and ensure physical security of information; and
- Coordinating all requests for information, subpoenas, warrants and Freedom of Information requests related to the IGADF Afghanistan Inquiry.
You will be an independent worker who can identify and prioritise your work to ensure effective contribution to team outcomes and deadlines, taking the lead where necessary to progress your work. Your attention to detail will support you to work autonomously yet be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the team.
