The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Service Director (Specialist Programs Alcohol and Other Drugs) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide strategic direction for Specialist Programs, Alcohol and Other Drug Services by implementing strategies and providing expert advice and supervision
- Work collaboratively with the Medical Director Specialist Programs, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service and Executive Director to ensure the delivery of quality community based mental health care
- Provide authoritative counsel to the Mental Health and Specialist Services Governance Committee
- Provide strategic direction for Adult Community Mental Health Services and the Joint Regional Plan
- Clinically lead and operationally manage a number of large multidisciplinary teams
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Possession of a tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist/Psychologist only)
- Working with children check (Social worker only)
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
- While not mandatory, post-graduate qualifications in health services management or equivalent would be well regarded
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19. This includes receiving the prescribed subsequent dose/s of a COVID-19 vaccination (i.e. booster)
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Temporary full time (6 months, with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary $5 999.60 per fortnight

This role provides operational management and nursing leadership for the Specialist Programs, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service, which encompasses multiple services such as Alcohol and Other Drug Service (AODS), Mental Health (MH) AODS Consultation Liaison and Perinatal MH - Community, Co-Morbidity Clinician, REACH/Forensic Liaison, MH Act Delegates/MHRT, Consumer Integrated Mental Health Application, Offender Health Centre, Nurse Navigator Practitioner, Interdisciplinary Persistent Pain Clinic, Secure Mental Health Rehab, Patient Flow and After Hours Coordination functions, based in Southport.
