About this role This opportunity is situated within our Credit Control team, an integral part of our national Finance Team at Grant Thornton Australia.
As the Credit Control Team Leader, your role will be pivotal in managing all facets of the credit function and supporting the refinement of credit policies and procedures, along with managing a ledger.
Working closely with the Credit Control Team and Business Performance Managers distributed across Australia, your focus will be on actively contributing to debtor reduction and collection efforts.
Key responsibilities Leading a team of Credit Controllers, providing strong leadership, coaching and mentoring.Review processes and policies in conjunction with the Senior Business Performance Manager to implement improvements.Collaborating with the Business Performance Manager to enforce the National Credit Policy and ensure compliance.Oversight of outstanding debtors and the continuous improvement of debtor collection processes.Proactive engagement with partners, managers, and external clients to achieve monthly collection targets.Preparation and delivery of timely and accurate reports to partners and managers for efficient debtor ledger management.Invoice and statement distribution via bulk email, including managing exceptions.Effective management of client disputes and repayment plans.Implementation of credit control policies, including the 'Stop Work Policy' for debts exceeding 90 days..Adherence to National Credit Management policies, practices, and procedures.Skills & experience Prior exposure to a professional services setting, within a similar positionIntrinsic motivation and results-driven mindset, adept at building relationships across all levels.Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirementsEffective time management, organisational skills, and the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively in a dynamic environmentA relevant diploma or equivalent professional experience.
