The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.

The role:

The Investigations Officer / Senior Investigations Officer is responsible for conducting audits and investigations to ensure compliance with RevenueWA legislation. The role involves providing guidance to taxpayers, grant recipients and their representatives on appropriate compliance methods, as well as preparing detailed reports with final recommendations based on audit and investigation outcomes.

The position operates in Personal Leadership context. This means that you are required to demonstrate personal accountability for delivering excellence and support your team and agency in delivering strategic goals. You will be expected to build and nurture relationships and be willing to seek feedback and learn.

The positions are structured such that if a person is appointed to the Investigations Officer position at a Level 4 classification, they will have the opportunity to be reclassified to a Senior Investigations Officer, Level 5 providing their behaviour and technical expertise have developed over a period of time to the extent that they can satisfy certain competencies at the higher level (i.e. reclassification is not automatic).

The ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a motivated values driven professional who:

* has sound communication skills, including the ability to understand your audience to communicate in a simple and clear manner.
* has good research, analytical and problem-solving skills; and
* is a team player who can manage their own time and tasks effectively. Having experience resolving customer conflict and negotiating outcomes is beneficial.
