Key Management Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Key Management Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our robust key management infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
* Address requests from business users and operations teams, providing technical status updates and overseeing the stability, resiliency, reliability, and performance of multiple supported systems.
* Support the implementation of changes, proactively identify and resolve potential issues arising from these changes, and perform access and/or physical provisioning/deprovisioning for infrastructure and applications.
* Offer consulting services to internal technology infrastructure teams and technical partners, execute procedures reliably, and escalate incidents appropriately to ensure swift resolution.
* Deploy and maintain key management infrastructure to meet stringent security and compliance requirements.
* Monitor and optimize the performance and scalability of our KMS infrastructure.
* Implement and enforce industry-leading security best practices to safeguard sensitive data and cryptographic keys.
* Collaborate with engineering and other cross-functional teams to develop and implement automated workflows for the entire key lifecycle.
* Conduct thorough post-incident reviews and implement preventative measures to minimize the risk of recurrence.
* Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to key management and cryptographic standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong foundational understanding of cryptographic principles, payment operations, and key management best practices.
* Over 2 years of experience and practical knowledge of Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), such as Thales HSM.
* Experience with key management systems like Azure Key Vault.
* Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go) and experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
* Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication and collaborative skills.
* Familiarity with Incident and Problem Management systems, such as ServiceNow.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* In-depth understanding of comprehensive Key Management practices.
* Direct experience with Thales HSMs.
* A strong aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new technologies.
* Experience with industry-standard monitoring tools.
* Prior experience operating critical infrastructure or application environments.
* Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to key management services, including encryption, decryption, and key rotation.
