About the role
Northside Eye Specialists is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant/Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in Chermside, Queensland on a part-time basis over at least 3 days per week. As an integral member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in supporting our ophthalmologists and delivering high-quality patient care.
What you'll be doing
* Performing a range of clinical duties to assist our ophthalmologists, including patient history, ophthalmic equipment operation and maintenance.
* Conducting preliminary exams and diagnostic tests under the supervision of ophthalmologists
* Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records
* Providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive patient experience
* Supporting the overall smooth running of the ophthalmology clinic
What we're looking for
* Relevant qualifications and/or experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Ophthalmic Technician. Previous use of OCT, CVF, Biometry essential.
* Strong clinical and technical skills, with the ability to operate a range of ophthalmic equipment
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach and the ability to problem solve.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisational abilities
* A collaborative team player with the ability to work well under pressure
* Proficient in using medical software and electronic patient record systems
* A candidates interested in a long term commitment to staying in the role at our practice
* A candidates with legal rights to work in Australia
