Disability Support Worker Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work with individuals who require high-level care and support. As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing personal care tasks such as toileting, showering, dressing, and grooming, as well as manual handling using an electric hoist.
You will also be involved in meal preparation and feeding, domestic duties, assistance with household administration, and social and recreational activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Personal Care: Provide high-quality care to individuals with high-level quadriplegia, including toileting, showering, dressing, and grooming.
* Manual Handling: Safely transfer individuals to and from bed to wheelchairs using an electric hoist.
* Meal Preparation and Feeding: Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring that individuals receive a nutritious diet.
* Domestic Duties: Maintain a clean and safe living environment, including laundry, cleaning, and other domestic tasks.
* Assistance with Household Administration: Assist with household administration tasks, including managing finances, paying bills, and maintaining records.
* Social and Recreational Activities: Plan and participate in social and recreational activities, promoting independence and community engagement.
Requirements:
* Working With Vulnerable People Registration
* National Police Check
* Basic First Aid Training
* Manual Handling Training
