Support Youth Workers Wanted
We are seeking a Support Youth Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work or a related field and demonstrated experience in youth services or residential care.
About the Role:
You'll be responsible for mentoring and engaging young people, guiding them through life skills development and personal growth. You'll also role model positive behaviors, emotional intelligence, and social responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Mentor and engage young people in their personal and professional development
* Role model positive behaviors and emotional intelligence
* Empower young people by encouraging their active participation in decisions that impact their lives
* Provide hands-on support with day-to-day tasks such as meal preparation, shopping, and housekeeping to ensure a safe and stable environment
* Collaborate with the team to tailor services that meet the specific needs of each young person
Requirements:
* Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work or a related field
* Demonstrated experience in youth services or residential care
* A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and a commitment to cultural competency
* A trauma-informed approach to working with young people facing significant challenges
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and support youth effectively
