Job Summary
The AECOM Rail Strategy and Operations team is looking for a Senior Rail Operations Modeller to join our team. We work closely with our clients to provide high quality rail operations modelling and strategic advice and insights utilising scientific analysis and extensive industry knowledge. Our team works on some of the most exciting infrastructure projects across Australia such as the Geelong Fast Rail, Brisbane’s Cross River Rail and Canberra Light Rail. Our team is currently based in Melbourne, however this role has the flexibility to be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth.
Responsibilities:
1. Conducting rail operations modelling such as timetable analysis, strategic assessments, dynamic simulations, infrastructure updating and travel time evaluations
2. Using RailSys and Excel to undertake rail operational modelling
3. Leading projects and supporting other team members to learn and develop
4. Engaging with stakeholders and project teams to source information, clarify issues and communicate findings
5. Developing reports and presentations to communicate outcomes to a wide range of stakeholders
6. Contributing to proposals and other business development activities to support the Rail Strategy and Operations team and wider AECOM team.
Minimum Requirements
We’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
* Experience in rail operations modelling and using RailSys
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
* Outstanding presentation and written communication skills, including report writing and customer engagement
* Someone who is keen to further develop a career in the rail industry and specialize in rail operations
Preferred Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, mathematics or transport planning
