Due to our growing business, we have exciting opportunities for two Consultants on a permanent, full-time basis to join Mine Closure Management Pty Ltd (MCM) and other Green Road companies to continue their expansion throughout Australia, North America, and New Zealand.
We are seeking a Principal Closure Consultant and this opportunity is available to be based at our Green Road WA (Subiaco) office, or QLD (Brisbane) office. THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Principal Closure Consultant will have an exciting opportunity to support MCM to deliver a range of closure related projects and disciplines from establishing closure visions and strategies to delivering technical work focused on the various aspects of closure of mine operations. Reporting to the MCM Lead Australasia, you will have responsibility and ownership over the following duties:
* Perform duties and responsibilities as a Senior company representative delivering mine closure support for our clients as required.
* Peer review company reports and other deliverables.
* Develop business opportunities for MCM with previous, current, and new clients.
* Develop proposals and provide deliverables to our clients that provide excellent client support on time and within budget.
* Support business development for MCM by attending conferences and presenting technical papers, which may require domestic and international travel.
* Staying abreast of industry trends and sharing knowledge across teams to foster a continuous improvement mindset.
* Travel for work related activities for domestic and international clients and related project work.
* Support and mentor Staff as required.
* Complete administrative responsibilities as required.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE:
To be considered for the Principal Consultant role you will have mine closure experience with a multidisciplinary technical background. We are looking for candidates who:
* Have an undergraduate degree in engineering or natural/physical sciences (pre-requisite) and preferably, a post-graduate qualification in a related field, including but not limited to hydrogeology/hydrology, geochemistry, engineering (civil/geo) or environmental management.
* Have 15 or more years’ relevant experience at a Principal capacity. Preferably your experience is within the consulting sector working on closure strategy development and the technical aspects of closure, in particular for high-risk landforms (i.e., closure of pits, tailings and mine waste rock storage facilities).
* Be experienced in mine planning design processes, with demonstrated understanding of key factors and considerations that influence mine design and closure optionality.
* Have a strong understanding of the legislative framework surrounding mine closure in Australia and/or New Zealand.
* Preferable but not essential; be experienced in planning and executing field studies, including field monitoring system installations, management of field sampling and laboratory characterisation programs.
* Preferable but not essential; be experienced across multiple mining commodities.
* Demonstrated leadership skills and experience, and/or mentoring small teams.
* Have strong project management skills including management of cross discipline project teams.
* Have well developed report writing skills.
* Be willing to travel to remote sites for project engagements and have a current driver’s licence.
* Be someone that is curious by nature, loves learning new things, and is motivated to contribute positively towards sustainable solutions for the closure of mine sites.
* Valid Australian working rights and a valid Australian driver’s license is essential for the role.
