The Role As our Produce Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our fresh produce department, ensuring our customers receive the highest quality fruit and vegetables every day.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage daily produce operations including ordering, receiving, and quality control
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and competitive pricing
* Ensure optimal presentation and merchandising of all produce displays
* Monitor stock levels, minimise waste, and maximise profitability
* Lead and train produce team members
* Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards
* Stay informed about seasonal availability and market trends
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in produce management or similar retail fresh food role
* Strong knowledge of fruit and vegetables, including seasonality and quality indicators
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work early mornings and weekends as required
* Physical fitness for manual handling tasks
* Strong communication skills and customer service focus
* Reliable, motivated, and able to work autonomously
