We are seeking an experienced Transmission Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and operation of large-scale transmission networks within the telecommunications domain.
Roles & Responsibilities
Minimum 5 years of experience is essential
Proven experience in planning NGTT‑AA to NGCE‑AA migrations
Proven experience in transitioning from the legacy NGTT‑AA transmission rings to the new NGCE‑AA architecture, ensuring higher capacity, resilience, and performance for 4G/5G, fixed access, and metro aggregation.
Hands on experience in working across Exchange, FAN, Hub, and CEV sites on Platform including Cisco NCS 540 (Access/Aggregation), Nokia 7250 IXR-E (Metro /Core Aggregation), Nokia PSS-32 (DWDM / OTN Optical Transport)
Provisioning, Commissioning, deployment of Radio Transmission network
Proven experience in DWDM commissioning & link mapping activities for the core transmission network
Prepare and review transmission design for a new base station, new infrastructure design for NTU and Aggregator, Radio and fiber ring upgrade for high capacity, and resiliency. Manage design process, workflow and escalation within team and communications to stakeholders.
Perform as a technical SME for multiple projects and collaborate with business SMEs to execute complex scenarios and approve business exceptions as well as modify Process Definition Documents (PDD).
Support software developers to make automation process for termination/ deletion of equipment from NMS also support automation process to prepare case scenarios and use BOT to complete inventory works.
Review planning documents and provide guidance to the designers and request exemption for any non-standard procedure.
Assist field staff to resolve issues when end to end testing fails, by way of remote loopbacks, alarm analysis and engagement of Tier 2 support if required
Proven working knowledge of transmission planning including MW (PDH/SDH/EoSDH etc.), Fiber (DWDM, Core and access RING), and Ethernet packet network (MPLS) with multi-vendor equipment.
