Job Title: Elementary/Middle School Media Specialist
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing a library program that supports literacy instruction and development, ensures a media center collection rich in print and non-print materials, fosters a positive learning environment, and supports school and district-wide goals.
* Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop assignments that promote critical thinking, literacy, and social skills.
* Provide active learning experiences and opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students.
* Promote reading in innovative ways and create an inviting, safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
* Ensure equitable access to resources and provide leadership in the selection and organization of information resources and technologies.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with school administration, staff, and faculty. A valid South Carolina Media Specialist Certificate is required or certification prior to the year.
