About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Privacy Lead to join a high-performing legal, risk and governance environment in Melbourne.
This is a broad and commercially focused privacy role that will see you partnering closely with teams across technology, cyber security, marketing, data and operations to support the ongoing development and implementation of the organisation's privacy framework and broader privacy management strategy.
The role offers strong visibility across the business and would suit someone who enjoys stakeholder engagement, problem solving and working closely with operational teams on practical privacy and data-related issues.
The Role Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting and maintaining the organisation's broader Privacy Management Program and associated policies
* Advising on compliance with Australian privacy legislation and broader data protection obligations
* Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments across technology, digital and customer-focused initiatives
* Embedding privacy-by-design principles into projects and operational processes
* Advising on privacy risks associated with data usage, marketing initiatives, customer engagement activities and operational projects
* Managing privacy incidents, complaints, data breaches and access requests
* Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and assessing impacts on the business
* Reporting on privacy risks, incidents and strategic issues to senior stakeholders
* Building strong working relationships across legal, cyber security, data, marketing and operational teams
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
* Demonstrated experience within privacy, legal, risk or compliance functions
* Strong working knowledge of Australian privacy legislation
* Experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments and advising on privacy risk within digital, technology or customer-facing environments
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and business partnering capability
* A commercially pragmatic and solutions-focused mindset
* Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across different levels of the business
* The ability to operate autonomously while working collaboratively across a broad stakeholder group
