They are looking for a talented Payroll Manager, responsible for the end-to-end payroll function while leading a small, capable team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role that blends operational excellence, people leadership, and systems/process optimisation within a dynamic and evolving environment. Supporting a complex, multi-site workforce, you will play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across the function, partnering closely with People & Culture, Finance, and Operations. Key responsibilities will include: Reporting to the Head of People and Culture, you will be responsible for: Leading, mentoring and developing a team of payroll professionals (3 direct reports - 1 onshore and 2 offshore), fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment Overseeing the accurate and timely delivery of end-to-end payroll, ensuring compliance with Fair Work legislation, taxation, superannuation, and modern awards including the Cleaning Services Award Owning payroll systems and driving ongoing optimisation, including HRIS integration and process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience Acting as the subject matter expert in award interpretation, ensuring correct application of pay conditions, penalties, and entitlements Partnering with key stakeholders across People & Culture, Finance and Operations to support reporting, reconciliations and payroll-related queries Driving continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, reporting enhancements and strengthening internal controls About you: Proven experience in a Payroll Manager role, ideally within a complex or multi-site environment Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and modern awards Demonstrated experience managing and developing payroll teams Systems savvy, with experience in payroll optimisation, integrations, and process improvement initiatives Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across the business What’s on offer: A genuine leadership role with scope to shape and improve payroll operations Broad exposure across systems, compliance, and process transformation initiatives Convenient South Melbourne location Work from home on Wednesday's To apply online, please click on the appropriate link below.
