Upper Room Book Shop Café is a Christian bookshop and café opening this February. We are a purpose-driven space focused on hospitality, community, and evangelism, creating a welcoming environment where faith, conversation, and great coffee come together.
We are seeking a friendly, values-aligned Barista to join our opening team.
About the Role
As a Barista at Upper Room, you will be more than just making coffee — you will help create a warm, welcoming space where people feel comfortable, valued, and encouraged.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing high-quality coffee and beverages
* Providing warm, friendly customer service
* Creating a welcoming and peaceful café environment
* Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the café area
* Supporting the bookshop atmosphere and mission
* Engaging respectfully with customers and community members
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has barista experience (preferred but not essential)
* Is friendly, reliable, and customer-focused
* Shares or respects Christian values and the mission of evangelism
* Enjoys serving others and working in a community-focused environment
* Is well-presented and works well in a small team
* Is comfortable working in a faith-based setting
