We are a collective of seven local, community-minded sporting clubs working together to manage the clubrooms and facilities at Leschenault Recreation Park, in partnership with the Shire of Harvey.
Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and affordable venue for families and the wider community.
About the Role
We are seeking a Club Cook to join our team at The PAV – Restaurant & Bar.
This role is responsible for the preparation and service of quality food to members and guests in line with the club's set menus and function requirements. You will work closely with the General Manager and kitchen team to deliver efficient service during peak periods while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and cost control.
This position suits a reliable, team-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, community-based environment and enjoys working in an open kitchen with club and social members.
Key Responsibilities & Operations:
• Provide consistent, high-quality customer service to internal and external patrons
• Prepare and present food in accordance with club operating procedures
• Assist with food preparation for club and external functions, including platters and function menus
• Complete kitchen cleaning tasks as directed and assist with general duties alongside bar and restaurant staff
• Ensure food safety programs, policies, and procedures are followed at all times
• Communicate catering requirements or issues to the General Manager
• Support junior staff and contribute to a positive, team-focused work environment
• Assist the Bar Manager and General Manager with restaurant duties during quieter periods
• Minimize food wastage through effective preparation, storage, and rotation
• Monitor stock levels and liaise with the General Manager regarding ordering requirements
• Receive, store, and rotate stock in line with food safety standards
• Food & Safety Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all food health and safety regulations
• Follow correct food handling, storage, hygiene, and safety procedures
• Maintain up-to-date food safety documentation
• Keep the kitchen and work areas clean, safe, and well organised
• Skills, Attributes & Experience
Essential:
• Food Handler's Certificate
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
• Reliability and flexibility with working hours
Desirable:
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Experience working in a commercial kitchen
• Understanding of food safety principles
• Staff supervision or mentoring experience
• Experience in a community club or hospitality environment
• Relevant TAFE or similar qualifications
• Police Clearance
• Working With Children Check
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to take direction from the General Manager and manage priorities effectively
Availability:
• hours per week, with flexibility and potential for additional hours by negotiation
• Availability required Wednesday to Saturday, with occasional Sundays during winter
