We're looking for a Senior Android Developer who enjoys building high‐quality apps, leading technical decisions, and working in a fast, energetic environment. You'll be joining a multi‐disciplinary team delivering the Express Plus Android app, used by millions of Australians every day.

About the RoleBuild great Android apps
* Develop native Android apps using Java or Kotlin
* Focus on clean code, performance, and excellent user experience
* Use modern SDKs and tools
Work with backend services
* Help design and integrate APIs and web services
* Shape how the app communicates with backend systems
Support testing and quality
* Use or learn automation frameworks: Python, JavaScript, Cucumber, Mockito, Selenium
* Review code, prototype ideas, and maintain engineering excellence
Collaborate widely
* Work alongside product teams, designers, engineers, and customer experience specialists
* Join workshops and discussions to ensure user needs are met
* Contribute to design patterns, frameworks, and technical standards
Lead and guide
* Support project direction, strategy, and iteration planning
* Provide technical leadership within the team
* Help drive continuous improvement, innovation, and agile ways of working
Bonus points
* Experience building apps for wearables (e.g., smartwatches)
Skills You Bring
* Strong experience in Java or Kotlin
* 3+ years developing native Android apps
* Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD
* Agile experience (Scrum, Kanban, CI/CD, code reviews, TDD/BDD, pairing)
* A passion for clean, testable, maintainable code.
