We are an expanding litigation law firm based in Box Hill, Victoria. Our primary practice areas are commercial litigation; family law and wills and estates litigation.
Role Summary
We are looking for a lawyer to join our team. The role will be permanent full-time. Successful candidates will demonstrate a desire to learn, be adaptable, have a high attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
You will receive extensive mentorship in the role and you will have an opportunity for career advancement within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructing counsel in court
- Legal research
- Discovery review
- Drafting correspondence and memorandums
- Proof reading documents
- Preparing briefs
- Filing and archive management
- Liaising with clients and counsel
- Drafting affidavits, applications, statements of claim and defences in State and Federal jurisdictions
- Assisting and supporting senior lawyers with litigated matters
Selection Criteria
- 0 to 2 years post-qualification experience in Victoria
- Solid academic record
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to clearly and empathetically take instructions from and communicate with clients
- Employment experience with a law firm or community legal centre highly regarded
