ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant or newly Qualified Chef (Commercial 3 level qualification) to join our Chef in preparing nutritious meals for children at our Long Day Care Centre in Prospect. You will need to have a Working with Children Check, Food Handling Certification and the ability to work collaboratively with our team of Educators and our Chef.
Whilst this role is initially part-time, up to 20 hours per week (4 hrs Monday to Friday), there may be full-time opportunities in the future.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assisting the Chef in the delivery of children's meals in accordance with our six-week rotating Menu
· An ability to learn and take on new tasks
· Basic food preparation, such as cutting ingredients for children's meals
· Washing dishes, sweeping, mopping floors and wiping surfaces
· Unpacking food deliveries, storing food items
· Engaging in food-related activities with children
· Collaborating with local community members as part of our Community Engagement Program
