Overview
An opportunity is available to join a team of dedicated medical professionals serving the Narrabri community. Two private practices in Narrabri are seeking enthusiastic General Practitioners with procedural skills in Anaesthesia or Obstetrics and Gynaecology. We are looking for someone committed to a long-term role in Narrabri and surrounding areas.
Namoi Medical Services
Namoi Medical Services is a new practice serving Narrabri's community needs. It has three GPs, including two GP Obstetricians and a GP Anaesthetist, supported by a Practice Manager, three reception staff, and a registered nurse. The facility has four consultation rooms and one treatment room, with additional services like Laverty Pathology and allied health providers. The practice is AGPAL accredited and participates in Registrar training. Operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. The on-call roster is managed through Narrabri Hospital.
Bridge Street Medical Centre
Operated by Dr Dilini and Dr Rohana, local practitioners and community members, this centre offers services such as employment medicals, skin checks, skin cancer excisions, laser therapy, chronic disease management, and minor surgical procedures. Dr Rohana has been a Procedural GP in Narrabri since 2016 and is passionate about rural healthcare and training future medical professionals.
Narrabri Hospital
The hospital, with 38 beds, was redeveloped in 2011 and opened in 2012. It provides surgical, emergency, paediatrics, medical, maternity, OT, and community health services, supported by a broad range of health staff including imaging and pathology. The local health district collaborates with GPs to provide comprehensive care. The community health centre offers services in Aboriginal Health, Counselling, Diet and Nutrition, Speech Pathology, OT, Physiotherapy, Diversional Therapy, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Women's Health, and Aged Care.
