Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Arboricultural Technician to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work on all aspects of tree care and maintenance for both internal and external clients.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assist the Arboricultural Services Leader as a key member of the Arboricultural Services Team responsible for the upkeep, management, and operation of public open spaces and recreational areas.
* Undertake all aspects of tree work, including pruning, removals, and plantings.
* Operate various equipment, machinery, and tools safely, with a focus on safety and environmental stewardship.
Requirements:
* Experience in an arboriculture role, preferably within a local government environment.
* Comprehensive knowledge of materials, plants, and equipment used in street and park tree maintenance.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong time management, ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage workloads efficiently.
* Variety of qualifications, licenses, and certifications required (refer to the position profile).
* Physical agility and fitness suitable for laboring, heavy lifting, and bending; may require a pre-employment medical assessment.
