About the Role
This exciting opportunity is designed for recent graduates who are passionate about working in water resource management. You will gain valuable skills and experience addressing one of Queensland's greatest challenges: a reliable and sustainable water future.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct comprehensive water planning activities within a region, coordinating input from multidisciplinary teams and delivering outputs aligned with water planning functions and business objectives.
2. Develop policy papers and recommendations for water plan development, supporting instruments, and other water planning documents in accordance with Queensland Water Act 2000 requirements.
3. Perform thorough technical reviews to inform water management solutions and policies, liaising with technical experts from various disciplines.
4. Undertake desktop research, data collection, interpretation, and analysis to inform water management and policy issues.
5. Support consultations with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Prepare policy papers, briefing notes, and other correspondence as needed.
7. Analyze and interpret existing national and state government strategies, policies, and legislation related to sustainable water management.
8. Contribute to a positive team culture by sharing information and supporting team members.
