Family Support Coordinator - Crestmead State School
Crestmead State School is seeking a dedicated Family Support Coordinator to join their team. This role focuses on working closely with families of students in the early years (Prep to Year 2) to enhance engagement, improve attendance and behaviour, and connect families with relevant support services to help remove barriers to learning. The successful applicant will play a vital role in fostering strong school-community relationships and supporting student success through early intervention and coordinated family support. As the Family Support Coordinator, you will work with children and families in the early years (Prep to Year 2) to strengthen family capacity, reduce barriers to learning, and support positive engagement in schooling.
Our Next Family Support Coordinator
While not mandatory, it is highly desirable that our next Family Support Coordinator possesses knowledge of:
- Early Years Transitions - knowledge of challenges in moving from early childhood services into Prep, creating safe, welcoming environments.
- Student Engagement & Attendance - strategies to support positive patterns of attendance, behaviour, and engagement.
- Family & Community Partnerships - building strong relationships with parents, staff, and external services.
- Vulnerable Families & Case Management - expertise in identifying needs and connecting families with supports.
- Community Development - capacity building, parent engagement, and linking school and community services.
- Early Childhood Development - understanding child development, play-based learning, and early pedagogy.
- NDIS & Disability Supports - familiarity with NDIS processes and early intervention pathways.
Your Responsibilities
- Assisting families to access engagement programs, support services, and community resources.
- Supporting children's transition into Prep and promoting positive patterns of attendance, behaviour, and learning.
- Building strong connections between the school, families, and community partners.
- Identifying and connecting vulnerable families with early intervention services.
