Offer description

Overview

As StarTye's 'primary point of contact' and \"regional leader\" in the Australian market, you will be fully responsible for the implementation of the company's strategy and commercial success in Australia. Leveraging the company's three core business pillars—charging, energy storage, and microgrids—and capitalizing on Australia's high penetration rate of roof-top solar, residential storage subsidies, and the **** Brisbane Green Olympics initiative, formulate and execute localized strategies. By integrating local channels, key account resources, and capital partnerships, drive the transformation from an \"equipment exporter\" to an \"integrated PV-V-storage-charging solutions provider,\" achieving breakthroughs in both sales volume and brand market share.

Responsibilities
* Regional Strategy and Business Planning
o Strategy Development: Develop phased market entry and expansion strategies based on the varying renewable energy policies, subsidy cycles (e.g., Cheaper Home Batteries, NEVI, and similar programs), and grid conditions across Australian states (e.g., Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria).
o Local Market Positioning: Develop key product strategies (e.g., large-capacity residential storage, ultra-rapid public charging stations, and microgrids for commercial, industrial, and mining sectors) tailored to the Australian market's characteristics, including \"strong demand for residential energy storage,\" \"a shortage of charging infrastructure due to the country's vast, sparsely populated terrain,\" and \"high demand for microgrids in mining areas.\"
o Investment and Growth: Responsible for developing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and medium-to-long-term market development strategies, accountable for the Australian market's P&L, and achieving dual growth targets for revenue and profit.
* Marketing and Business Development
o Key Account Development: Lead the development of key major clients in Australia, including Energy and Distribution Giants: Such as AGL, Origin Energy, Shell Australia, BP Australia, etc., to explore energy retail bundling and VPP (Virtual Power Plant) partnerships.
o Commercial and Real Estate Groups: Cover large retail chains (such as Woolworths, Coles), commercial real estate, and property groups (such as Mirvac), to promote destination charging and solar-storage-charging projects.
o Fleets and Infrastructure: Target logistics giants (such as Toll, FedEx, and Australia Post) and public transit companies to provide dedicated station charging and fleet energy management solutions.
o Government and Investment Institutions: Establish close ties with the Queensland Government's Trade and Investment Agency (TIQ), capitalize on the infrastructure opportunities arising from the **** Brisbane Olympics, and participate in government-led tenders for charging networks and green energy projects.
o Channel Ecosystem Development: Establish and manage a local distribution network, installation service providers, and EPC partner ecosystem. Explore strategic partnerships with well-known local electricians and installation platforms (such as EVSE Australia) to ensure standardized delivery of installation and after-sales services.
* Organizational Management and Compliance Operations
o Team Building: Build and lead a core local team in Australia from the ground up (including sales, solutions, after-sales, compliance, etc.), integrating headquarters' culture with local business practices.
o Compliance and Certification: Ensure products comply with Australian RCM regulations, CEC (Clean Energy Council) certification, and standards such as AS/N/NZS*********. Closely pay close attention to state-specific grid connection rules (e.g., SWIS system requirements in Western Australia) and collaborate with headquarters R&D to implement localized improvements.
o Brand Building: Enhance awareness of \"Star Charge\" and associated brands among Australian consumers. Establish a reputation as a technologically leading \"solar-storage-charging\" expert through participation in the All-Energy Australia exhibition and the publication of industry white papers.
* Product Iteration and Localization Support
o Feedback on Requirements: Establish a Voice of the Market (VoM) feedback mechanism for the Australian market. Based on Australian climate characteristics—such as high summer temperatures, high salt fog corrosion in coastal areas, and frequent thunderstorms—submit requests to headquarters R&D for hardware weather resistance improvements.
o Solution Innovation: Given Australia's high grid interconnection fees and widespread adoption of residential solar PV, promote \"solar PV + energy storage + charging\" as a zero-carbon solution for households; for mining areas, promote integrated energy solutions for microgrids through \"diesel-to-electricity\" conversions.
o Requirements (Qualifications):
+ Bachelor's degree or higher in Power Electronics, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
+ At least 10 years of experience in the new energy, power, automotive, or related B2B industries, including at least 5 years of senior management experience in the Australian market.
+ Familiarity with Australian energy market regulations (NEM National Electricity Market rules) and a proven track record of successful collaboration with major Australian energy retailers, government agencies, or mining giants.
+ A deep understanding of customer pain points in Australia's context of \"high electricity prices and high PV penetration,\" with the ability to accurately identify the economic models for residential energy storage and commercial and industrial solar-storage-charging solutions.
+ Possesses the pioneering spirit of an \"entrepreneur\" in overseas markets; is not content with merely maintaining existing business, and is capable of tackling challenging projects such as large-scale government infrastructure and energy services for mining operations.
+ Capable of earning the trust of local Australian teams while clearly articulating market logic to the Chinese headquarters to secure R&D and supply chain resources.
+ Familiar with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, and environmental requirements, with proven crisis management capabilities.
